How To Get A Long Lean Body
7 Steps to Get a Long Lean Body
There are seven important steps to getting and maintaining a long lean body:
-
Diet:
Focus on high protein foods along with complex carbohydrates. Spread your eating across five or six small meals a day to boost your metabolism. Incorporate foods such as turkey, fish, egg whites and chicken breasts often. Build in complex carbohydrates such as yams, potatoes, rice and beans to complement proteins. Your body uses more calories to digest protein than it does fats or carbohydrates so focusing on protein and small meals will keep your body working consistently throughout the day. -
Supplements:
Ensure your body is getting all of the tools it needs by supplementing with vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Protein powders and shakes are a good source of the tools your body needs most to create a long lean body.
-
Weight-lift:
Aim to body build four to five times each week. Weight training is key to stimulating metabolism and creating a lean body. Muscle is the most active tissue in terms of metabolism in your body, so more muscle equals more calorie burn. Alternate working your push muscles (triceps, shoulders, chest) one day, pull muscles (biceps and back) another and legs separately. Work calves and abdominals three times each week.
-
Aerobics:
Aerobics work your circulation, lungs and heart. Focus on doing aerobic exercise either on your off days from weight lifting or at the end of bodybuilding activity. Aerobics help your body recover more easily from intense body building workouts.
-
Cleansing and detoxification:
Adding opportunities to cleanse and detoxify your body ensures that toxic and harmful substances are taken out of your body. Your body is then better able to function, more easily absorbing nutrients from the food you eat and burning fat more efficiently.
-
Sleep:
Do not underestimate the importance of quality sleep as you work to build a long lean body. Sleep serves a number of vital functions, including generating mental alertness and producing growth hormone.
-
Consistency:
None of the tools to building a lean body will produce results without consistency. Discipline and determination are key to seeing strong results over the long-term. Making a full commitment to the steps necessary to build a strong long lean body will ensure you see positive results.
