Three Abs Exercise at Home for a Lean Fit Body
Crunches can be one of the most effective abs exercises at Home if done correctly. Doing crunches all of the time can sometimes become monotonous. In most cases, when a person gets tired of a routine, they usually quit. Now, if this is you and you want to get a lean fit body, then you need to change up your routine.
If the regular crunches start getting too routine, then try some variations such as the exercise ball crunch. All that is needed is an exercise ball.
- Lie on the ball, with the ball positioned under the lower back.
- Cross arms over chest or put them behind head.
- Contract abs to lift the torso off the ball, pulling the bottom of the ribcage downward toward the hips.
- Keep the ball stable so it does not roll
- Lower back down.
Another ab exercise at home that can be done to work on getting that lean fit body is the bicycle exercise. There is no equipment required for this exercise.
- Lie flat on the floor with the lower back pressed to the floor
- Put hands beside your head.
- Bring the knees upwards to a 45 degree angle. Slowly go through a bicycle pedaling motion.
- Touch the left elbow to the right knee, then alternate with the right elbow to left knee.
- Try to maintain steady breathing through out the exercise.
The Elbow and Toes Plank is another type of home abs exercise to get trim and toned abs. As with the bicycle exercise, no equipment required unless you just have to have a mat.
- Lie face down on floor/mat and rest on the forearms with the palms flat on the floor/mat.
- Push body off floor and raise up onto the toes and continue resting on the elbows.
- Make sure to keep the back flat and in a straight line from the head to the heels.
- Tilt the pelvis and contract the abdominal muscles to keep the rear end from being up in the air or sagging too low in the middle.
- Hold this pose for about 60 seconds.
- Lower back down to the floor and repeat 3-5 reps.
These are just a few abs exercises to get you on the right track to that lean fit body that you have been trying to get. Of course, exercises are not the only thing that you need to do for a lean body. Diet can also play a huge role in weight loss and getting into great shape.
